Hi,
Out of my element. I have a short video on iPhoto that I want to email to a friend. I use gmail for multiple reasons and so do not use Mail. I don't know how to get the video off the computer and onto the net. What do I do here?

The easiest way would be to export the video from within iPhoto. Choose an easy to get to location (such as the Desktop) for the exported movie to reside. Then within G-mail, attach the video file and send.
You can then trash the file from the desktop.

Hi,
That was the plan, however, when I click on Share, Export is faded out. There is no way that I can figure to export to desktop.
Still confused.

Hi,
The export solution is embarassing. Click and hold on the video file, then drag to desktop.

I exported some short videos to a file on the desktop, then sent the file to my son via gmail. He could not play the videos, and I could not play the videos when I opened the desktop folder. They played fine when I double-clicked them in iPhoto. What am I doing wrong??

To get your slide show out of iPhoto you will need to Export it. Highlight your Slideshow, go to File> Export then choose your size of the video small medium or large, I woud choose small if you plan on sending via email.

This still didn't work. When I selected FILE/EXPORT, I used "Current" for the format. When I do that, I do not have the option of making the file "small". Could Leopard have something to do with this problem? Also, I have iPhoto '08, version 7.1.3.

I can't replicate your setting. I just exported a slideshow just before I posted in small and medium size. I have the same version of iphoto.

Try and install this plugin for Quicktime if you can i don't think it'll matter.
