Hello everyone...
I am running Tiger on my G4 iBook, and recently installed the latest security update (2005-8, I believe). But since doing this, and especially while using either Mail or Firefox, from time to time I get a non-functional mouse or combination of the mouse and touchpad. In other words, the only way I can restore any functionality is to do a reboot. I have tried zapping P-ram, and other remedies (permissions, etc.) to no avail.
Would anyone have an idea what might be causing this, and if it does turn out to be the Security update, does anyone know how to un-install it (if this is possible at all.

Have you tried Disk Utility's Repair Disk function? Also, I have seen DiskWarrior fix a lot of random problems.
