In regards to buying the second version of a particular model, would that apply to the 17" macbook when it comes out? (analysis paralysis again)

I usually tend to but if one needs to stretch it a bit, a case can be made that if bulk of the design elements are similar between 15 and 17-inch machines, the lesson they learned from 15-inch model may already be put to use when the 1st 17-inch machine comes out. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I believe the MacBookPro is up to revision D right now. It appears Apple is trying to work out the issues as fast as they can. Heat is one issue. They lowered the perception of the heat some by putting a plastic mask on the hinge where you might touch it. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
But I'm interested in the monitor issue as I posted over on hardware if you would like to consider that issue here too.
It's the software screen resolution specification that concerns me. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For me my instinct tells me that the time is not quite arrived yet for my new mac purchase but it is very, very close.

Can you wait until Apple starts selling Macs with Leopard?

Still essentially the same tin can with a cat of different markings. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi GRG,
I have my sights set on a 17" Macbook pro for myself when they are released and a Mac Mini for my desktop. My Applecare for my current g4 Powerbook expires in June. I hear of rumours of a price drop in processors so I want to wait until at least then. But realistically WWDC will be around the time I will purchase I think. Leopards release should be known around then I hope as well as Boot Camp issues fixed.
I have a space reserved on my desk for the Macbook that I hope to fill real soon. My credit card has been prepared, my missus has given the green light, all I need is the product. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Waiting for the new 17" MacBook Pro. Replacing my 17" PowerBook G4 (latest screen resol.) purchased on November 2005. Working excellent but I would like more speed and Windows boot camp to play games.
