I'm about to crack the seal on a copy of Windows XP I bought to install on my MBP. When Vista finally comes out (perhaps when I'm in the grave) will I be able to purchase the upgrade for Vista and install it just as I would on a PC? Or, since one needs the full version of Windows XP to use boot camp, will I also need the full version of Vista?
I guess the point may be mute, since Leopard seems likely to be released long before Vista and I understand that bootcamp will cease to function when that happens. So another question--If I upgrade to Leopard and install XP, will I be able to upgrade to Vista using Microsoft's upgrade version or will I need to uninstall XP and get another full version of Vista? I am only asking for speculation, since I realize neither Leopard nor Vista are currently available--just wondering what your thoughts are.
One more, if I decide at some point to remove windows entirely from my mac, how easy is it to undo the whole process and go back to just running Tiger? Thanks!

There's so much uncertainity I don't think anyone can answer with any direct authority. For instance loading the current version of Vista has proved difficult for those who have tried.
Does this mean we won't be able to? Vista's specs may mean some mactel's won't work, i.e., the mini.
Leopard's timing is still up in the air, it may in fact beat out vista but since Apple is show casing it in WWDC that doesn't give them too much time to releae a gold copy. I wouldn't be surprised if Vista beats them out the door. That means inmo its less likely that the current version of bootcamp will handle [seemlessly] the install of vista. Device drivers for vista may be another issue (and it may not).
I suspect the best way to undo everything is to backup your mac and reformat, but I thought that boot camp allows you to repartiion the drive back to a single partition. I'm not sure since I haven't looked into it.

What I would like to know is HOW would you remove the XP CD, and put in the Vista upgrade (this must be done if one is to install XP or Vista using an Upgrade CD.)
After all, the Mac DVD drive cannot be opened and shut using the Mac Eject button while under the Windows install program. That Apple key function will not work under XP (or Vista, that I know of.)
