Hi all, I just recently switched over to Mac and I have a question regarding iPhoto. What is the best way to organize the photo's files? Within iPhoto I have no problem managing pictures, creating folders and albums, and so on, but my question is regarding the actual file organization within Finder. For example, if I try to upload a picture through a webpage, I have to click on many different "rolls" in order to select the picture I want. Is there a way for me to view all the pictures at the same time instead of having to click on each roll (a la Windows XP- My Pictures)?
I'm aware I could go back in and cut and paste the pics to one general roll, but there has to be an easier way to do this. Also, would it be wise in the future to rename my pics so I can easier distinguish them from IMG000877 or whatever.
Thanks for the help and I hope I provided the information necessary for a solution.

Organizing Photos in iPhoto

Stay out of the finder! If you do anything to your photos in there, iPhoto will not be able to find your photos and your library will be corrupted. Unlike Windows, there is NEVER a need to go to the library in finder. Do your organizing from within the app and forget the finder library is there. You and your photos will be much happier. Let iPhoto do what it is meant to do -- organize -- and you sit back and ejoy!

For access to photos in your library for use outside iPhoto see Terence Devlin's treatise on file access. It's the best on that subject in the AD.
