Hi there. I run a small IT consulting firm wherein I use several products made by Logmein both on my home and office PCs. For a variety of reasons I'm thinking of switching to Macs at the office. Pretty much the only thing holding me back is the idea that I may not be able to run the logmein products on any macs I may purchase, since literally all of my customers use the same products, and I would need interoperability between me and them.
One option I may pursue is that of using Boot Camp to run Windows, to then in turn run the logmein programs. Has anyone had experience with this? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Logmein products with Boot Camp?

In my experience with Boot Camp I never found a Windows app that did not work with Boot Camp. Keep in mind that when you are using Boot Camp you are no longer using a Mac OS product. i.e. when you boot up into Windows via Boot Camp there is no difference then a Dell or HP or any other brand of computer that runs Windows, other than a logo on the computer. Logmein should work OK with it.
The only caveat is that Boot Camp is beta ware. You should not use this product or purchase a Mac if it's a critical production application. I believe the philosophy of Boot Camp is for people who have a vested interest in the Mac OS and would occasionally use Windows for gaming and such.
That said, take a look at the Parallels Desktop for Mac product. Since Logmein does not appear to be a graphically intensive application (unlike games or video production), it should work well within the Parallels framework. I now use Parallels to run all my Windows required apps at our office. This solution still allows me to use the Mac OS simultaneously. I refer you to the MacWorld article reviewing Parallels product. The caution I see that might exists with Parallels VM is the level of DirectX support that you might need for a product like Logmein. I don't know anything about Logmein to answer that question more thoroughly.

That's what Apple publicly announced/promised. It's supposed to be a feature of the next version of OS X. What form it'll take is anyone's guesses. A more definitive answer will be had next month at the World Developers' Conference. If you don't need it right now, definitely worth the wait.
