Hi all,
Can this be done: Since I can watch PAL format DVDs on my Mac, can I just connect the Mac to a TV, Play the DVD in OS/X's DVD Player and then have the output go to a TV and thus, use that setup to watch a PAL DVD on a TV?

Technically speaking, it ought to work. I'm not exactly sure how the image quality will be. NTSC TV sets are designed for a different field and framerate. If you've got an HD TV, it shouldn't really matter, but I'm not sure about earlier sets. If it were me, I would just go ahead and give it a try.

It will not work on a standard TV in US that uses NTSC but if you have a multiformat TV, designed for international use, after selecting the appropriate format on the TV, you will have no problem.

If I'm routing the Mac's video output, why would the destination TV's NTSC format be an issue?

Because PAL and NTSC TV sets interpret and broadcast video feeds differently . . .
