I have found iPhoto to be very slow in bring a picture up to its final focus point. It takes a good 2.5 seconds (one Mississippi). I am running with just under 3,000 photos.
I have a G4/733 Quicksilver (digital audio)with 1.12 GB, and the GeForce2 MX: 32 MB card.
Will a faster card or increasing the memory (if possible) help or is it and issue of processor speed, or even the library size.
Thanks,
Greg

That is the compromise or price of making it scrol faster... the older versions used to be painfully slow in scrolling when the album size exceeded several thousand photos. It seems you can't have both. Personally, I would much rather wait a second for it to come to crisp focus when it is accurarely rendered rather than have them move like molasses in January during scrolling-- used to take ages to go through a 10,000+ photo album. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Yes, added RAM would help as would a faster speed processor but you still can't cache all the thousands of photos in RAM so a faster hard drive will help as well for quick swap files.
