Would someone post what all those alphabet names mean?
I've run across Lux, RPG, expansion packs, MMORPG, WOW. There are probably many more I should know if I game. Anyone have a gamer dictionary file?
Should I buy some sort of hardware controller to game or just keyboard?
Are there standard keyboard controls? I opened one game without any instructions whatsoever so learned to play by hitting keys to see what happens.
Which game sites provide a decent bandwidth for downloads?
I've asked this before. Anyone have any advice? So, pardon my ignorance as a game newbie, if I buy this digital download set (macgamestore holiday bundle) which seems to be a good value, can I burn all of them to a CD/DVD and load them only when the mood strikes? Can I share them with family members on multiple CDs/DVDs? Are they locked to my Powerbook so I have to give up time on my computer so the family can play or do I load them in an old(er) imac as a stand alone game machine? How do I manage game storage? Is there some sort of iGames software manager like iTunes manages music? Can I just load them all on an external drive, boot from that drive, and play from that drive on any Mac?
Are all games universal now so anything I buy can be used on my current PB and also later when I upgrade to an Intel offering next year? I suspect bundles are quickly becoming worthless as Intel Mac takes over. Should I wait until I buy a MBP?

Lux is a Risk-like strategy game. Role Playing Game (RPG), expansion packs are add-ons for games, Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, World of Warcraft being a primary example.

Stick with the keyboard and mouse for most stuff. The only exceptions I'd make would be a joystick for a flight sim like X-Plane.

Macgamefiles.com is where I tell most people to download games; they provide enhanced speeds to IMG Pro subscribers. MacUpdate and VersionTracker often use the same servers, but you can each try them separately if you find insufficient results from MGF.

Conceivably, if you don't mind having to manage that operating system separately.

No, but all the major commercial releaes are now Universal, and most shareware is. I've seen a few exceptions trickle through here and there, but for the most part they're the exception, not the rule.
