I was at the thrift store the other day and found an old game called FLASHBACK that was published by MacPlay. It was only $4 so I decided to buy it. However, I soon realized that the contents of the box were only Diskettes, as it was created before CD's were common.
My Mac doesn't have a disk drive. I have one on my PC though. I want to know if there is a way to copy the files from the disks to a CD that will work on my MAC. I downloaded a program called TransMac which allows me to open the diskettes on my PC and I can then drag them to folders that I created on my harddrive. I am then going to burn these folders to a CD, and hopefully they will work on my MAC. Before I do that however, I am a bit concerned that in copying from the diskette to the folder, they are undergoing some sort of translation into a different file type. They aren't being copied with the extension.
Is there a way to copy the EXACT mac file to a PC folder? Can I just change the file type back later when I copy them to my MAC drive?
Please help.

Old Diskette Game files to MAC

You really needn't worry. Old programs are far more forgiving than newer programs. Unless there is a proprietary encryption that keeps you from copying from the floppy (though I have never heard of such a thing on a floppy disk) I would just copy the game files from the floppy disks to the CD. Your PC isn't going to reprogram your game or anything. It will just burn the data as it sees it. The only real issue I see you facing is if the game ask to to 'Insert Disk 2' but will not let you point it to the correct directory. You will just have to figure that one out for yourself, though.

P.S. Of course you could also pick up a USB Floppy Disk drive for like $20 and not have to worry about burning a CD
