BTW, twelve o'clock noon is 12:00 M (for "meridian", i.e. the sun is -- theoretically -- exactly at the local meridian at that moment). 12:00 PM (= "post meridian") is twelve hours after noon, i.e. twelve o'clock midnight, which can also be 12:00 AM (= "ante meridian", before noon). The built-in clock in Macintosh computers has it wrong too. Just thought you'd like to know.
Yes, but, theoretically, it would only be 'M' for an infinitesimal amount of time, assuming time is a real value and not integral, i.e. it would be PM as soon as the time reached 12:00:00.00000000...1 (where '...' is a number of zeros approaching infinity). So for all intents and purposes, the time can never really be 'M'.
