Made from a Mac . Want to play it on PC

I'm using an Imac with OS 8.6. I have been able to transfer files from a PC to the Mac using zip drives. So whenever I want to play a file on a PC made from a Mac, what kinds of plug-ins or extensions do I really need? I have some authoring software on the Mac side that claims to embed a player to work on a PC. But it won't let me. Am I missing something? /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
