If you’re unhappy that Desktop & Screensaver’s Use Random Screen Saver option all-too-often displays iPhoto albums, you can follow these steps to take your photo albums out of the running. [more]

A while back, I had used a screensaver called RandomExtra, which helped with this. It's available through VersionTracker.
Basically, you select this screensaver in the SysPrefs, and then tell it which screensavers to pick from. You can give priority to certain savers to make them show up more often.
I no longer have this on my system, so it might have been (possibly accidentally) deleted when I cleaned up all my modules related to incompatibilities with the Intel processor. The current version says it works with Intel chips, so that shouldn't still be a problem if that's why I no longer have it.

Since this solution apparently prevents access to the iPhoto database by the iApps, would this not also affect how other iApps, like iDVD, iMovie and iWeb access iPhoto images?

I tested that before posting the tip and it doesn't appear to affect the iApps.

I have tried this command in OS 10.5.6 (Leopard) with iPhoto 08 (v. 7.1.3) and it doesn't seem to work. Any thoughts, suggestions, etc.
