Help! On a Macbook Running 10.4.8 ...
Google.com websites (e.g. www.google.com, gmail.google.com, *.blogspot.com) get connection timeouts in either Safari or Firefox. Conversely, www.yahoo.com loads fine. Under Terminal, ping'ing google.com results in 100% packet loss while yahoo.com has zero packet loss (so it probably isn't the browser).
Behind the same home router, a PC has zero packet loss and no problems loading either Google or Yahoo (so it's probably not the ISP). What might it be?

It could be an outdated DNS server is listed in your Network preference pane. Try removing the DNS servers or check with your ISP for the current DNS servers.

i'm having the exact same problem. I'm running 10.4.11 on a macbook

I went into the system preferences > network > configure > TCP/IP tab > and the DNS servers field is blank, as is Search Domains

Anyone got any ideas about this?
