I have a used G4 (Quicksilver 2002) on the way and will be getting an iPod with it. Question: my daughter just received a SanDisk MP3 player and I see that the Rhapsody music service is Windows-only. No Mac support.
Any advice/recommendations on which Mac compatible music services to get for the SanDisk? eMusic is independent lablels only and that won't do much for a 10 year old's musical interests. The other BIG question is: is there any way to purchase music from iTunes and convert it so that it will play on the SanDisk? If not, I need to find a Mac compatible music service for her SanDisk.
Thanks!

Well you can burn iTunes stuff to CD and reimport as MP3, that would work with some reduced sound quality. Dumb question, but what about regular ol'CD's from the store? I don't believe there are any subscription type services that work with anything but Windows.

Thanks! I'll give the reimport process a try. True... she has several CD's to get by for a while.

We bought a Sandisk a while back, intending to use it for Audiobooks. Found out it wouldn't work on a Mac, so we ended up returning it and got a Nano.
However, when we had the Sandisk, I did drag and drop songs from my iTunes to the player and they played OK. Keep in mind these were songs from my 'owned' CD's that I had imported. I would expect that process would work for you. Let us know what happens.
Bob.

I haven't trying reimporting iTunes purchases as MP3's (yet) but fortunately regular CD tracks can be imported as MP3 and then dragged & dropped from the iTunes software right into the SanDisk player - works fine.
Thanks.

on my sansa (an older one), there is an option to change the USB mode, from a straight flash drive to a player that needs a computer program (windows media player, napster etc.). What worked for me was to change it to a flash drive and then just drag and drop the files into the main music directory, also maybe try downloading Windows Media Player for mac and trying it through that... i think there is one out there for mac...
