dynamic picture screen saver

I have an older mac that will be running Panther that I would like to use as a digital picture frame, and I thought the picture screen saver feature would be a simple way of implementing it. My question, if anyone else can confirm or deny it, is if pictures that are included in a folder will automatically be included in the slideshow rotation. I'm thinking that this computer will be running headless and if I add photos via personal file sharing, I want them to be included in the show without having it exit. Any thoughts?
