I have been Windows/PC user all my life but are sick and tired of the design of laptops from conventional producers - not to mention the ever-existing problems with Windows. So after the introduction of the MacBooks with Intel processors and the option to run Windows AND Mac I'm quite tempted to swith to a Mac. BUT ... does it really work? Any experiences?

Yes. It works. It works well. Please see our special Windows on Mac page for all the info you'll need -- there are recently-posted looks at Parallels, CrossOver, Boot Camp, and VMWare Fusion all linked on that page, for instance.

I actually work in a PC only environment using Parallels because I use my Mac to do some graphic design. It's worked near flawlessly since I started using it. I also use Parallels on my MBP at home with great results.
My personal opinion is that Windows actually runs better on a Mac than on a PC. There are even some tests to confirm that Windows on a Mac runs faster on identically configured systems (CPU, RAM, HDD, GPU-wise).
