Hello everyone,
My friend had a question regarding the transfer of files between Mac and Windows on Parallels. Transferring files to "Windows" has been simple as dragging and dropping onto Parallels; however, the opposite does not seem to be working. Is there a way to overcome this problem within the OS? I know alternative ways working outside the Parallel framework exists (e.g. using a flash drive, e-mailing, etc.), but he would like to know if there is a way to reverse the process.
Thanks in advance!

If you have the shared folders set up, then just open the Parallels Shared Folders icon on the Windows desktop, and inside you'll see all of your Mac's folders. Just drag-and-drop within Windows to the right spot in that folder, and you're done.

Hi Rob,
Thank you for the reply. I assumed something along the lines of a shared folder would exist and do the trick. Being that we're not familiar with Parallels' specific functions, could you tell me where we could "activate" the shared folders? I hope this does not mean re-installing Parallels all over again.

Not at all. Just go into Edit -> Virtual Machine and you should see a section for Shared Folders, and it should be pretty self-explanatory from there. I thought it was on by default, but maybe not (which version of Parallels are you using?).

I don't believe it is on by default. I had to setup my Mac drive as a shared folder. But, then that was back around build 1790 or so. Parallels might have it turned on by default now.
I also believe that the drag and drop is supposed to work both ways now in Version 3, but I could be remembering wrong.

Hi Rob,
I'm not surewhich version of Parallels he is using, but I'm sure we'll figure it out somehow now that we now such a function exists.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
