I just bought a new MacBook Pro witha 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. The vendor installed Parallels. When I received the computer Parallels worked fine. I then used the Migration Assistance to "move into" the new machine. Everything worked fine except for Parallels.
I contacted Nova Development. They said to make a disk image (ISO) of Windows and use that to install Windows. It didn't work.
Anyone else have this problem? More importantly, is there a fix short of reformatting the hard drive and manaully installing everything - the suggestion of the vendor.

I am not sure from your post what exactly is not working...
Is Parallels not working at all (i.e. Parallels won't run)? Will Parallels run, but the Windoze virtual machine that was running won't run anymore? Or is it that Parallels runs, but you cannot setup a Windoze virtual machine?
Do you have all the install disks/files for both Parallels and Windoze? I am not sure where the Windoze ISO is coming into play in your problem.
And what you do mean by "reformatiting the hard drive"...are you talking about reformatting the Mac's hard drive and reinstalling everything or the virtual drive within Parallels?

Parallels opens fine. The problem is when I try to install Windows. I follow the steps in the Parallels installer and all goes well until it supposed to actually start installing Windows. It appears it can't find the Windows disk. You have an option of installing from the CD or from an ISO version. I have tried both, but neither works.
Reformating refers to wiping my hard drive clean and starting from scratch. Nova Development says I shouldn't use Migration Assistant as the migration process seems to be causing the problem.

But, if you had not installed Windoze, how do you know that Parallels worked fine when you first got the computer (prior to doing the migration assistant)? Or did you have Windoze installed and it no longer works and you are trying to install it again? I am missing something. As such, I am not sure that I could conclusively agree that Migration Assistant is cause the problem.

The computer came with Parallels installed. I played with it before I used the Migration Assistant and it worked fine. I could run Windows applications, surf the net, etc.
Then I used the Migration Assistant to move everything from the PowerBook. That went fine, but Parallels stopped working. It couldn't find Windows.
I hope this helps explain the situation.

It sounds like the Migration Assistant might have deleted or moved the Parallels Windoze config file and/or the virtual hard disk file. Inside your user directory, there should be a Libraries folder. Inside that folder, there should be a Parallels folder. And inside that folder, there should either be two files or there should be a another folder with two files. One file should be the configuration file and the other should be the hard drive file. I am going by memory here (I don't have my MacBook Pro fired up right now), so I could be a little off. If those two files are gone or have been moved from where they originally were located, then Parallel will not be able to run the Windoze virtual machine.
I would suggest trying the Parallels forum and see if they can help. Feel free to keep posting here...I will continue to try and help as well.
I will "play" a little with Parallels later tonight and see if I can come up with some other thoughts.

I finally did what I should have done right off. I started to use Spotlight to find all the items Parallels installed. Then I found that Parallels has an uninstaller. So, I uninstalled Parallels, checked with Spotlight to make sure there was nothing with "Parallels" in its name, and then reinstaled Parallels.
All worked fine and problem solved.
