DiskWarior has helped fix my computer several times when Apples Disk Utilities have not worked. Why dosen't apple just liscence their technology? Or better yet, just buy it. DiskWarrior's approach must be better, it works better.

Disk Warrior was almost essential to have back when Macs ran OS 8/9. Under OS X the operating system is now quite a bit more reliable, and Disk Utility/Repair Disk works quite a bit better to repair a damaged file system than Disk First Aid did. As a result, Disk Warrior is no longer a necessity for most Mac users. (However, it is invaluable in the rare event that you come upon a problem that Disk Utility can't fix.)
I've only heard rumors that Apple and Alsoft spoke about Apple licensing Disk Warrior. I understand that in the end, no agreement was reached between the two. As a result Alsoft did not gain a license to OS X, the upshot of that being that booting from the Disk Warrior CD takes forever. And Apple does not have a license to use Disk Warrior, and as a result, technically, Apple "geniuses" at Apple stores are not legally entitled to use Disk Warrior on your Mac to fix it.
Sometimes a tool isn't used for reasons other than whether or not it is the best one available.
