Visual Voicemail

The iphones visual voicemail is one of my fav features, when I was on my razr mostly I even signed up for Youmail so I could have visual voicemail. My question is, do the voicemails download to the iphone itself or are they stored on the internet somewhere like youmail?

It would appear to download to the phone when the voicemail is received. I listened to a vm in my basement (AT&T can't reach there, unfortunately it barely reaches my house at all) but the iPhone did not acknowledge that I'd deleted it unitl I got back upstairs where I reconnected to the network.
I really enjoy the visual vm, as I do the whole experience of the iPhone.

that's interesting, anyone know if there's a way to look up your call log online? I still have youmail because I can't bring myself to leave the personalized voicemail greetings behind but I'd like the apple visual voicemail online like my youmail...
