i've always used it in some form, and never had a virus in 17 years that I am aware of.
but I've always questioned "do I need this protection"?
any thoughts? I have ClamXAV installed now, and wondering if I really need to have it.
if it is needed, what is everyone else using?

I run OS 9.2.2 and I STILL use virus protection.
There's a Yiddish proverb that addresses the question: When you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.
Lots of dogs out there.

I run anti-virus and firewalls on all my computers...Macs and Windoze PeeCees. Of course, I am sure that some on this forum will consider me paranoid for running such things on a Mac. But that is OK...calling me names doesn't hurt me! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Heck, I will call myself paranoid (if you cannot make fun of yourself, who are you gonna make fun of?). /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

VirusBarrier by Intego.
I was running Norton Anti-virus on my one Mac, but it is kind of a resource hog and is rather slow at scanning.
