If you set your Windoze computer to get the IP address dynamically and have the Airport Extreme setup to use the DHCP, then you should not need to do anything else. The router should be "found" by the Windoze PeeCee. This is assuming that you are using the wired connections...but even if you are using the wireless connection, there should be no real messing with the IP related settings...just the WiFi settings (i.e. encryption, etc if you want that stuff turned on).
Regardless, the IP address of your computer if it is "behind" the Airport Express (aka router) should be either in the 10.x.x.x, 172.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x range. I believe that the Airport Extreme is set to use the 10.x.x.x range by default. It is just that should be handled by a "negotiation" between the router and the computer...unless you want to setup a static internal address.
Personally, I use static IPs for my internal network. As a result, it has been a while since I messed with setting up a Windoze machine with a router using dynamic IP addresses/DHCP. So, my memory might be a little fuzzy on the whole thing.
