Do the resulting files qualify to be played 20% faster on iPods that offer faster audiobook playback? Currently my 5.5gen iPod can play both Audible.com files and re-encoded m4b audiobook files at 120% playback speed, but my 2nd gen iPod nano can play only the Audible.com files at the faster speed. (Yes, same file, but different playback results on the two ipods) Where do the AudioBook Builder files fall?

I use AudioBook Builder and find it marvelous for its stated purpose. But with all the public domain text files of book available, I wish it would use OS X's text-to-speech features to generate books from text, perhaps being smart enough to generate a new chapter and name is based on double-carriage returns followed by a chapter title in the text file. That'd open up a world of new audio books and set the product ahead of any possible competitor.
Perhaps after Leopard comes out with its improved text-to-speech....

There used to be a way to join tracks generically in iTunes but now it's greyed out.
Why are we paying for something that we should be able to do in a few steps through iTunes?
Anyway if I have a whole lot of playlists with individual CD's can this program join all the CD's to one track and
will it be bookmarkable?

Most of my vocal audio files come from sources other than CD. What other input formats can Audiobook Builder handle?
The Audiobook Builder FAQ has this to say:
>Audiobook Builder should be able to read the audio from any QuickTime-compatible file with discrete audio tracks. It can also import directly from audio CDs.
>Audiobook Builder can also handle Ogg, FLAC, and Speex with the help of the following:
>Ogg Vorbis: Visit xiph.org/quicktime/download.html to download the Xiph QuickTime Components (XiphQT) which provides support for the Ogg Vorbis format.

iTunes still has the Join CD Tracks command; if that's all you're trying to do, you don't need Audiobook Builder, which does something quite a bit different, and provides many more options.

It can take separate tracks and combine them into a single, bookmarkable audio file.
