I just went to check on an order my company made for 2 MacBook Pro systems which have been on backorder, and I was unable to get order status. The message I got was:
Quote:

Thank you for shopping at the Apple Online Store
Apple's Online and phone Order Status services are temporarily unavailable due to a scheduled upgrade to our systems.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

An upgrade to the ordering system? Has anyone ever noticed this before? It could be nothing of course, but it seems like more than just a coincidence that it's happening on the day of announcements of new products. The order status page was working fine yesterday.

Flux capacitors are totally awesome, just like the Macworld coverage of everyone's favorite keynote, the Apple keynote!

Hmmmmm...what we really need is an iPod that is designed to do nothing but PREVENT the kids from listening to that subversive "rock and roll" music.

What about us 47 year olds who listen to it?

Yep. That's too bad - probably to make you want to buy an iPhone. I was hoping for a higher capacity too - 32 GB would have been nice.

If your new iPod Nano, iPhone, iPod Classic, iPod Touchscreen or older models are broken or used get cash for them on www.buymybrokenipod.com

Just thought I would let you know. Instant web quotes, most money and easy payment/exchange.

I wonder if the iTunes Wifi store will be an update that applies to the iPhone also? I want to buy songs directly from my iPhone. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yep. Looks like it will be available for iPhone later this month.

Yeah, I suppose so. It's too bad HDD isn't as reliable or as slim. I understand Apple chose to go flash based with this one, and 16 GB is really the top for keeping the price of this within reach.
Still, I have to mull over whether or not 16 GB is really enough for me to tote around the tunes I have and some photos and videos, or if I'll be struggling with the space limitation. It may be enough I just don't know.

I wonder if you can do Gmail?

If it's doing web pages, it has a keyboard. If it has a keyboard, it can do gMail.

16GB for the top of the line ipod touch is way too small for the price. disappointing. i may just hang onto my 5.5G ipod video for awhile.

iPod touch - only 16 GB, no mail, only WiFi, only one color, no FW, no external monitor support, iTunes downloads don't let you enter soda cap coupons - yeah, this sucks, Apple sucks, Jobs sucks, nothing is good and what a waste of bandwidth this media event was...

BTW, did I mention I am buying two, one for me and the wife?

Mark this date on your Calendar: September 5th, 2007
The day that Apple closed all the gaps, delivered all the products everyone ever wanted in the iPod Family, and fully integrated the whole concept, bringing it to a full, complete circle.
A momentus day, it really is.
