VLC automatically hides the cursor in full-screen mode after a few seconds. So do Quicktime Player and Apple DVD Player.

Hi, I continue to enjoy your articles and software items you highlight.
I am also a fan of FolderBrander. I registered it a while back and have been using it to place labels on lots of my folders. Some of the results I view in Finder when I have Folders view on, though, it is still helpful even with the mini folder icons in List view.
(I'd guess I use List view about 60%, Folder view about 39% and Column view only when I want to navigate someplace quickly.)
One place where FolderBrander really comes in helpful for me is with many of my special data folders that I have within my DragThing docs. There I can see in a fraction of a second (I am guessing...) what folder is what and so it is very fast and easy to find, click, open what I want.

FolderBrander 2.2 is cute, but with the update to 10.5.2, I'm not seeing the custom icon in the dock. In the dock I'm now seeing a new icon that looks like a set of folders rather than the folder's icon or a new one I created with FolderBrander 2.2... sigh!

With Mac OS X 10.5.2, FolderBrander is useful again. To get the Dock to show the folder icon instead of the content, Ctrl-click on the folder in the Dock. Under the "Display as" option, select "Folder" instead of "Stack".

As Jay noted, you need to specifically tell each stack to display its folder icon rather than a stack icon.

There is a way to put icons on your folders in the dock without FolderBrander: (a) Make a New Folder within the selected folder and call it something like like AAA so that it will be the first one if you arrange items by Name. (b) Put whatever custom icon you like on it in the usual way. © Restart the computer.
