Looking for recommendations for an external HD

Well with the release of Leopard on Friday I am looking into getting and external Hard Drive that will work well with Leopard, my MacBook, and MacBook Pro. My wife and I have been needed one for awhile.
I have seen several different models in my search, but I wanted to get any personal recommendations that you guys have.
Here are some specification: 500mb - 1tb; under $300.
If possible I'd love to get one that I can hook up to our router/hub so we can access it from both our Macs over our network.
