Cant get my Macbook to start up after failed Leopard installation!!!
I have a Macbook and began the installation process of Leopard. It was taking awhile so I left it running and left the room during the install. I came back and the installation failed. I tried quitting the install but it did not do anything. I tried to see if I can switch over to my previous operating system but it did not do anything. Also I can not eject the Leopard disk. So I just turned off my computer. Now when I start the computer its just a screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel and nothing happens for a long time. Right now I cant access my files or desktop or installation screen.
In the end I want to install Leopard. How can I install leopard if i cant get my desktop to show up or the installation leopard screen?
another question
Can I revert to the operating system version that I had before or is it messed up because I began the Leopard installation process?
If there is something with the disk, how can i eject it?

With the Leopard Install DVD in the drive, restart and hold down the "C" key. This will force it to boot with the DVD. When the Installer window comes up, look in the menus at the top for Disk Utility. Use Disk Utility to verify and repair the disk. Then quit Disk Utility and try your install again. You'll probably have to use the "Archive and Install" option.
Unless you've backed up your system prior to installing, or installed on a separate hard drive or partition, you cannot go back to your previously configured system. If you wanted to go backwards, you would need to use the System Install/Restore CDs (or 10.4 Installer DVD), install a fresh system, and reconfigure everything, including reinstalling some of the applications.

thanks so much
if I "Archive and Install" I wont see the files I had before the installation leopard? will i be writing over the previous failed install and os X version before leopard or will there be two versions
I only saved my documents and music to a dvd, if i do the archive and install and everything is erased, I can just put my documents from the dvd into the new leopard documents folder and itunes music in the new itunes music folder right? and it should work. Have access to files and itunes songs.

"Archive and Install" is referring to what happens to the system files. See here for more details:

some progress!!!
I reinstalled leopard (archive and install) and got a message that it installed successfully all I have to do is restart. I restarted the computer. All i get is the screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel and it does not start to the log in page. What can I do now? I have waited over an hour for it to take me to the log in page.
thanks
