I've checked the thread here for an Administration problem like mine: didn't see any.
Just tried to update iTunes and of course it brought up the screen asking for my Administrator's Name and Password. I typed in my name and password but they didn't work. At the 3rd try it gave me the hint about my password. The hint is correct and my password has 6 letters. Any ideas here would be appreciated.
Last time I got the Leopard disk to mount after hitting "restart" of course it asked for my name and password, then rejected it all 3 times.
Incidentally, I've tried holding down the "C" while booting up with the Leopard Disk, and after 3 tries it just keeps going to my screen. Tried the "S" and the same thing - my screen. Keychain locks, and unlock unlocks when I use my password. Go figure!
Also now I can't get the computer to boot up from the Leopard Disk. Tried "C", and even the command key and "C". Just keep getting my screen. Want to get the disk to mount so I can reset the password.
When I insert the Leopard disk and click on "Install" and the next screen has the "Restart" hot button, when I click on it, it again asks for my Name and password, which of course will not be accepted.
Any ideas out there. Incidentally, my Account is mounted as "Standard."

You need an admin account, not a standard account, when asked for a username and password.

Actually, you are unfortunately not the first person to experience this. You will need to create a NEW administrator level user. Unfortunately, you can't do that through your NON-administrator user, so you'll have to create one via terminal. Here's an explanation of how to do it.
