I want to play online games with my desktop, but it doesn't have a wireless card. Can I connect to my internet with my macbook, and then use an ethernet cord from the mac to the desktop to play on the desktop?
How would I do this?
Connecting the desktop to the hub is not an option.

Yes, you can use internet sharing to do so... but I'm not so sure if I'd use that for gaming. As is I rather plug in, than do any gaming via wireless... Go to system preferences, then sharing... follow instructions on the screen, check correct boxes, done! I think there are also some tweaks on your wireless access point that need to happen - but I'm not sure. If you get it to work, I wouldn't mind getting a reply to see how it performs, and what games.

Long story...
My mom has new laptop, newer than my imac. she spent most time work on her course in her den in basement with wire connect. Then she broke her leg and stay first floor for while. She complain that her wireless are slower than her wire so she stole my wire since it is closest one to her laptop in dinner room. I use wireless for 5 weeks now and show little problem.
overall, I think Wireless won't impact on gaming too much but it is nice to have solid connection all time. Sure u can do airport stuff. but I still prefer use wire. or try to buy airport card? dpend on what desktop we talk about. I recall that most mac since 2005 has airport card? I have to look this up later..

Yep, sharing will work just fine. However, I've noticed that Tiger doesn't always "share" properly. For example, while you can access the web via Firefox or Safari, things such as IM clients won't work - they can't connect. I'm not sure what the deal is, but you may end up running into trouble.
Leopard, however, seems to have no trouble with this.
