Please guide me how to uninstall safari 3.0.4 that came along with apple update keeping all my bookmarks and history items intact. I want to downgrade it to 3.0 Public Beta because on that version I could save Flash videos from sites like YouTube by Command(Apple Key)Click. Now I can't do this in this version. I don't know how I was able to save movies by doing CommandClick but it worked and as far as I know from other users it is not possible. It worked for me some how and I want to downgrade the latest version of Safari to see if it works again.

I believe you had a plug-in of some sort installed; this was never native Safari behavior.

I've had a lot of trouble with Safari 3.0 (the beta worked fine). It came with OS 10.4.11. It is unable to maintain ANY login/passwords.
Troubleshooting I tried (which have failed to fix problem) include:
1. Fixing Permissions.
2. Deleting System and User caches with AppleJack.
3. Reseting Safari.
4. Deleting cookies.
5. Deleting Safari.plist.
6. Deleting apple.internetconfig.plist.
7. Reinstalling OS 10.4.11 with combo updater.
8. Copying backup copy of Safari 3 from my backup clone of system on external drive.
9. Keychain First Aid found no problems.
Note that this problem is on my iMac Intel (late 2006). Safari is fine on Powerbook G4 and on external clone of system.
Login/Password info works fine on Firefox & Omniweb.

In light of this problem with Safari 3, and the considerably larger number of issues with Leopard than occurred with Tiger, I am putting off buying Leopard. Actually OS 10.4.10 was working fine, not until 10.4.11 did this major issue with Safari 3 came up.
