desktop icon problem

I am a new mac user. When I converted from MS outlook I downloaded software to do this for me. All my contact info was copied into address book, but now I have the icon on my desktop that I cannot get rid of. It is "LaunchU3.exe" and it has a "padlock" on the bottom left corner. Dragging to the trash does not get rid of it. I am hoping someone else has solved this problem & I would appreciate any help.

Right-click the file, and select Get Info. Inside the info window that opens, you will see a checkbox named "locked," which will be checked. Click it to uncheck it, and unlock the file. You will now be able to put it in the Trash.

tri holding down the option key when you drag it to the trash
