Hello,
I'm trying to get this radio streaming up & running : http://streaming.radiocentraal.be/
i.e. http://icecast01.edpnet.net:10270 > http://icecast01.edp.../stream.ogg.m3u
Their site recommends downloading VideoLAN's VLC player via http://www.videolan.org/
However, that doesn't work (three different Mac people have confirmed this). What might be wrong ? (Myself system 10.4.11, others 10.4.10.)
And what about other options, e.g. plugins for iTunes, RealPlayer, QT ... ? The two XIPH plugins at http://www.xiph.org/...e/download.html made the stream work in Quicktime on one instance. But it didn't work on subsequent tries since. The Videolan VLC doesn't work, but I think that has to do with how the preferences are set ; sadly, they're too technical for me. And I'm already aware that iTunes doesn't allow for open format streams (SHAME ON YOU, Apple !).
The http://www.vorbis.com/setuposx/ didn't help me either ... I work with Mac OS 10.4.11 (Dutch), QT 7.3.0, iTunes 7.5 (19) and Realplayer 10.1.10. The latter told me that "the clip requires the following free software (blank)" and then "some needed components were not available (application / ogg)" + blank field.
Any suggestions anyone ?
Thanks !
