In OS X (Leopard), are there any kind of command lines that can be entered into Terminal that will permanently get rid of all those pesky reminder notices for everything from restarting to emptying the trash or quiting applications.
Like, I've been using Macs for over 15 years and I'm tired of being asked 'are you sure...' every time I want to do something.

Those are controlled by the registration information with Apple. You have to be a Mac user for 20 years - registering first with the old MacIntosh Plus - before they turn off automatically. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif You're lucky you only have another five years to go. In the meantime you can click through the messages easily enough - if you're sure. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What you call reminder messages are more accurately confirmation messages, and some can be turned off (such as that for emptying the trash). But I for one think confirmation to restart and shut down makes a lot of sense. One false move or twitch of the mouse and you could set a shutdown in motion without meaning to do so, and you will then be very glad to have the confirmation message.

Given the frequency of posts here from people who "accidentally" emptied the trash and now find they really did not want to delete anything, I think the "Are you sure..." messages perhaps should be repeated numerous times before they actually execute your commands /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
