Airport Extreme is an amazing looking Wireless Router but since I bought it couple of months ago, I never got good signal or performance out of it. When it works it is really fast but signal drops very often. I was not able to use WPA secured network on my IBM T-40 and T43 Laptops even though they support WPA security.
The most interesting problem I faced was that if I setup Airport through IBM than it won't work on my Mac Book. I could see the network but can't connect to it.
So I tried using it without security and just with Macaddress but now it drops signals every couple of hours. I changed the DHCP lease to 10 hours but still same issue.
I contacted Apple store and showed them my problem but they were of no help. They offered me the refund. I still wanted to keep the router so they replaced my router with new one. Amazingly this new one was not even sending out the Wireless signals. I could use it and set it up through etherenet port but still no signals.
Finally I went to Apple store again and this time they didn't even try to solve the problem and refunded my money. Which sucks as I was looking forward to get this problem fixed.
I don't know what to say about Apple's service. Its good that I got full refund even after around 3months of my purchase but still they never even tried to fix the problem.
Now I am again looking for a good 802.11n Router. If any one have any suggestion regarding this than please let me know.
