Firefox works, Safari suddenly won't!

This AM when I launched Safari (3.0.4) I got a msg indicating that Safari could not connect to the server. Vienna (2.2.1.2210) will not download RSS feeds. Mail.app (2.11) will send and receive emails, though. Firefox (2.0.0.8) loads pages fine. I have reset my modem twice and checked all connections. Any ideas what the problem might be?
I am using an iMac, 2.16, Core2Duo, 2gb ram, Tiger 10.4.11. Thanks...

I'd suggest re-downloading, or wipe safari, prefs and all. (appzapper!) and then re-download / install.
