Macworld Forums: Surprise, surprise...iBook won't boot/turn on... - Macworld Forums

Hey all,

My iBook charger got delivered to me this morning. Eager to finally use my mac I plug it in and press the power button...nothing, not even the sound of a fan ot hard disk activity, nothing. I'm sure the charger works as I tested it on another notebook. I've done the PMU reset thing, (this thing at the bottom) and nothing came of that. I pressed the button on the battery (which I'm really unsure about what it does) and no lights came up. Don't know what is wrong with it. Oh and I read somewhere that you have to plug the charger into the mains first and then into the iBook (or vice versa) is that true? I'm not really scared of opening it up to check for problems, however I wouldn't know what the problems would look like.

Any help, guidence, tutorials or key combination will be greatly appreciated.

Oh never mind, I opened it up and discovered my DC-In board to had melted.

But thanks anyway
