If they both were the same price which one would you go with and why?I'd go with the 2.0 MacBook Pro. Why, because you'd be getting a larger screen and more expansion options. For instance the MBP has a FW800 port the Macbook doesn't. Also you get a superior GPU in the MBP over the Macbook. finally the form factor.
I don't know about you, but I'd rather not do any video editing on a 13" screen. I used to own a MacBook and I found that working with photoshop and dreamweaver was painful. Not so much as the performance, but rather trying to work within such a confining space.
finally how are you going to use it? one of the advantages the macbook has is its durable enclosure, it can take a lot more abuse then the MBP's aluminum skin and if you're going to hook a monitor up to it, then the small screen issue is a moot point.
As stated, I've owned both a Macbook (core duo) and now the latest incarnation of the MacBook Pro, and I can safely say that the MBP blows the doors of the MB. the screen alone makes it worthwhile (of course I need to consider screen size, thanks to my 40+ year old eyes :) )
