I am running Mac OS 10.5.1, I have been having problems with editing iCal and Address Book. The Edit button and pull down menu are both dimmed. When I go get info on Address Book the lock icon is locked. When I unlock it and close the panel it re-locks is this normal? I may have a setting wrong or a permissions problem but I can't figure it out. I have run the Diskwarrior and repaired permissions but I still have the same problem. Does any one have an idea that might help???
Thanks, Tom

I just upgraded to Leopard and noticed that double-clicking on an iCal event would not open the page for editing the info.
I just yesterday discovered that I can edit if I quit and reopen iCal, then double-click. But I can't leave it running all of the time like I did with Tiger.
My Address Book seems to be working normally.
My current concern is that Activity Monitor shows that the syslogd process is using the CPU 99,9 and seems to be making my MacBook very slow to process input.

HI
I could not edit my address book. What fixed it was I click on the disk icon and did apple + I to get the info, then click on the lock on the lower right, put in my password, then click on the little cog wheel in the middle at the bottom and selected apply to enclosed items. It worked.
