Overall, I've been impressed with 10.5 Server. I have quite a few customers running it already in our data center on their Mac minis.
As far as pricing goes, 10.5 Server and a Mac mini is about as inexpensive as you can get for a nice, powerful, user-friendly server.

I found the iCal server setup frustrating and confusing. The subscription url is bulky an difficult to remember when setting up iCal on clients that aren't on the local network. There also seemed to be an absence of ability in creating categories for calendars unless I used other third party software like Sunbird.
The iCal server features still need a lot of work.

Can anyone tell me how we get our "free" upgrade to 10.5 Server if we bought a server shortly before 10.5 was released?

How is the upgrade from 10.4.11? I have 2 Xserves set up as OD Master and Slave with a bunch of managed clients. All Mac, all running Tiger for the time being.
I'm more than a little hesitant to upgrade from 10.4.11 to Leopard Server.
Does anyone have any advice or experience with upgrading? Should just export my OD stuff, do a clean install of 10.5 Server and start "fresh"?

Since the Mac Pro is available from the Apple Store with Mac OS Server, will Server Monitor be able to monitor the Mac Pro hardware (temperatures, fans, etc.)?

That would depend on how shortly. If you think you qualify, talk to your Apple rep. If you don't have one, ping whomever you bought server from.

I would tend to doubt it, that's really centered around the Xserve, but I don't know for sure. I didn't use a Mac Pro for my testing.

I was excited to see an option to change the mysql root password right from in the UI for 10.5 server. Only thing, it doesn't work - at least in my case. This is not on an active server yet, only a test box. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

I have tried to use Server Monitor with other Macs (but not a Mac Pro specifically, just other Power Macs) and it's never worked. The documentation suggests Xserves only.

Don't do it. If Tiger is doing well, keep it. Turns out there are SMB issues (SMB as in samba). My windows clients are getting killed trying to do file sharing. Wait till the next update.
