hey everyone - i don't normally register and submit posts, questions, or answers in this type of forum, but i feel it is my duty to lend a bit of feedback based on my experience.
i am SOOO unbelievably fed up with the syncing issue. i bought markspace's missing sync last year for my blackberry pearl. missing sync was never able to even locate my blackberry. i contacted their tech support, couldn't get it resolved, and they finally replied with a "we have a strict no refund policy." i was furious over my $30 loss. pocket mac never worked either, so i went without syncing for a full year, which has been brutal.
i decided to try again today, downloaded pocketmac's new version and the update. tried to sync and got the "Could not lcoate the Microsoft Entourage Office Synchronization Tool" (nice spelling of locate, Microsoft!). I figured i'd have to sync with ical and address book, which is ludicrous, or buck up again and try markspace's newer mising sync, which, many people claim, now works fine.
HOWEVER, i read a forum post on markspace, and they, too, state that there is no way to sync with Entourage 2008, other than the "bridge" method with ical and address book. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON MISSING SYNC - it doesn't work either. plus their return policy and support is totally unacceptable.
one last note, thankfully a happy ending. i downloaded the recent update to pocket mac, and there is a checkbox under "contacts" as well as "calendar" that specifies Entourage2008, rather than just Entourage. i unchecked the old entourage, checked the 2008 box, and voila! i can't believe it, but i successfully synced. give it a look/try...for anyone using pocketmac with an older version of entourage who has upgraded to 2008, it just might work.
