I have a strange mail bug and would like to know if others have this happen to them. I am on my MacBook Pro, Leopard 10.5.1. Mail has a shortcut (command-k) that allows you to delete messages from a selected mailbox. Mine worked fine until recently. Now I get a chime (alert) and no action. When I go to the menu (under Mailbox>Erase Deleted Messages) the option is dimmed. It has worked on occasion but doesn’t work now. Any ideas?

Similar problem here. I have Mac the same OS X 10.5.2 running on both a Macbook and iMac. The Command-K short cut works well on my Macbook. On my iMac, though, it is actually assigned to Erase Message from selected Mailbox (and is blanked). The Erase messages from all mailboxes is not blanked out but there is no short-cut associated to it.
I have no idea where the problem comes from. I wondered for a while whether it was not linked to .Mac (I had setup everything on my Macbook and subsequently used the free .Mac Trial to sync my email seetings on my iMac. Did you do something similar?

Cheers

Nico

I have tried every suggestion to no avail. My command-k works fine to delete all messages in the trash. I guess this is an Apple bug that has not been fixed yet. I trust it will eventually sonce it is a pain to correct every time I transfer a name from an email to my address book.

Thanks for the info. Let's hope Apple fixes that bug soon, indeed.
