Next month I am attending a conference and wish to walk around the showroom floor and poster sessions and informally interview participants. I want to record the discussions and am thinking of buying a mic/ recorder for my iPod.
Later I will upload voice recordings and make a Podcast for my students.

Is the mic/ recording feasible with an iPod - say, 30 GB model?
Which mic/ recorder would you suggest?
Is there an alternative to using my iPod for recording?

I do not wish to open my MacBook for recording as the informality and spontaneity will be lost.
THANK YOU experts :-)

To know for sure the compatibility of certain microphones you will have to tell us what generation your iPod is. There are many microphones available for the iPod but the one I would recommend is the Griffin iTalk Pro. Not only is Griffin a reputable company but overall it is a good product.

Thanks. I have a range of iPods but will use the 5Gen video iPod so your suggestion is ideal.
