I have been using Microsoft OneNote recently to help me organize my school notes, and I must say, I love it. However, it is a Microsoft application, and, as such, has many quirks which make using it a pain to use at times. There is also the fact that it requires that I fire up Parallels when ever I want to use it. Is there a good Mac alternative to OneNote? They key features that I am looking for is the multi-tabbed interface which allows for multiple levels of organizations and the free-positioning of text/graphics/etc. Once feature which I would love is a good equation editor, which OneNote lacks. I currently use OneNote for my math and physics homework, and currently I have to open Word 2007 if I want to insert an equation into my notes.

I'm not familiar with OneNote, so I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for... but, there is a great application called Notebook. You can find it at www.circusponies.com. It's $50 for the program, but only $30 for the academic license. I believe they also have a 30-day full-feature trial.

Hey man, if you have the one note cd, then just download Crossover onto your mac, and open up one note using Crossover.
Otherwise, if you just need to view, you can fool around with Evernote by converting your onenote files to evernote on a windows computer, then opening the evernote files on your mac.
If you just need to view, and don't care about the same format/organized one note style, then save your onenote files as word and you're good to go.
Hope that helps.

I signed up for this forum because I just had to respond to this post from Janish. I love my new Mac, but missed my OneNote - the only Microsoft program I ever used a lot. I've tried all the other Mac apps others have suggested here on the forum, but they just don't cut it.
Then I come across this post about trying Crossover and since I have my OneNote CD, I downloaded a trial of Crossover. Not all functions in OneNote work, but enough to suit me. Same with Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007. Crossover is constantly updating their apps so one day MS programs may work just like they would on PC's, except with the benefits of using them on Mac. I'm so impressed with Crossover that I purchased the licence for just $35.
Thanks very much for the suggestion, Janish. Now I can get my life organized again with OneNote.
