Power cord on MBP

I have had my MBP now for almost a full year, and yesterday I started noticing that the Light on the cord keeps going out.

Right now the Battery is fully charged, the light on the magsafe is out, if I unplug it the MBP shows that it is now on battery power, I plug it back in, it shows a green light, then about five minutes later the light goes out again.

Any ideas whats up?
