Relatively new to Mac (converted Windows user) and have made a website using iWeb. Haven't touched the RSS Feed Button or the Subscribe Button just left them on the pages as they are in the templates. But when I go to my website and click on either a Subscribe Button or RSS Feed button they both just open a blank page with the message "Page Not Found." What am doing wrong?

Did you name your site in iWeb?
or did you leave it just as "Site"

There is a broken link somewhere because all the files are not completely uploaded to your hosting site. Obviously

it should look like this:

feed://www.pckidland.com/sitename/Blog/rss.xml

When you see something like this in your browser window:

http://www.pckidland.com/Welcome.html

it means something did not get load completely. It should look like this:

http://www.pckidland...me/Welcome.html

and that is for all your pages
try reloading your (site structure) website again but first make sure your pages are named correctly and your site. Upload the entire folder and your index file in your sites folder in your users folder.

this is not correct:

do you have two different site's in iWeb?

Now it is hosted by a friend of mine on his server with my own domain name pckidland.

If I click on RSS Subscribe on my original site above I get this message followed by a page of html code

As you know if I click on the same thing on my pckidland one I get the Page not found message.

Try not to be too long winded but here is what I do.


Inside Sites is an index.html file plus the folder called Site which has my website in it. There is also an index.html in there as well plus all of my site. When I make changes to my website in iWeb I first of all save it then use "Publish to a Folder" and at the prompt overwrite my Site folder. Then I open Cyberduck and drag the contents of Site into the Cyberduck window and overwrite when prompted to do so. The heading at the top of Cyberduck is ftp:stuart@www.pckidland.com. Clearly my structure is out of whack somewhere but this website business is still confusing to me and I do need some mind unjumbling here please. Many thanks for your help. Hopefully you can sort me out. My friend has offered to do it all for me remotely but that won't help me understand what is going on for future reference. Plus he is a pc person not Mac so there may be some hierarchy differences there.

Now you should name your "Site" inside iWeb. Whether it's "pck" or "pckidland". Under your Site in iWeb all of you pages should be there and named accordingly Like you have named them.

Everything you have done was correct as far as publishing to a folder and publishing to your server. I have found when overwritten files sometimes corrupts the new files that are created or things aren't over written completely. Inside Cyberduck you should delete your files created there also. You should start fresh with you site.

Delete all your files inside your site folder (your index.html file and your folder iWeb creates).

Inside iWeb app name your Site (throw the inspector)

Save you work

Click publish to folder name the correct URL (http://www.pckidland.com)
Once it's published to your Sites folder
drag only your index.html file and your folder that iWeb created (and you named inside iWeb) into Cyberduck and upload it as you normally would.

The problem lies in the publishing of your site and inside iWeb app. It is important that everything is named correctly inside before you publish your site. Behind all the pictures and words is your code which we don't see iWeb creates all that for us when it publishes your site to your fold or .mac. When things aren't named correctly of or uploaded is when links get broken and stuff gets misplaced.

When everything in the right place your URL in your browser address window will look like this:

http://www.pckidland.com/sitename/Welcome.html

with the sitename you gave it inside iWeb app and uploaded the folder with the sitename
