Safari Update

I use Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6) and like to download the new Safari 3.

1) Is the download deleting all the bookmarks of my actual 3 years old Safari 1.3.2 ?
2) What do I have to do for preventing any loss of hundreds of data ?
3) Is it possible to keep the old Safari with all data, until I'm familiar with the Safari 3 ?
