I am using for the time logitech usb powered speakers but the bass and treble need to be adjusted. I checked under preferences>sounds and found the logitech speakers but there was no where to adjust treble and bass - any ideas?

-Hi,

Some of the Logitech setups for laptops can NOT be adjusted. What model Mac and speakers do you have? Have you tried launching iTunes then from the menu-->Equalizer to adjust the sound?

These are the Logitechs I have (www.everythingusb.com/logitech[uv20[/u]laptop_speakers.html]). They put out a very good volume for their size. I know when I had them hookep up to my Dell laptop, I was able to lower the bass and raise the treble but I havent been able to find where on my PowerMac G4.

I haven't imported my music files from my external hard drive to ITunes because I'm very confused on how to do that. When I plug in the external hard drive to the PowerMac, it asks to reformat. I know I have read others advice on fixing this but I am so afraid of loosing everything on the hard drive. I just wish there was a way that I could plug in the hard drive to my Dell laptop to my Mac and vice versa without any problems.

iTunes as a very good equalizer in it.

you can also select speaker type. ie: small speakers.etc. I would fiddle with the iTunes settings before you start pulling your hair or anything. most any speakers can be made to sound pretty decent with the settings there.

play there and enjoy

err don't reformat....
just tell it to cancel

then use your Disk utility to mount the drive if it doesn't do it automagically.

you can then have iTunes import it all or just drag and drop them all to your .....

Home >> Music >> iTunes >> iTunes Music folder
