For 4 months now, I've had a 667 DVI Powerbook. When I'm not home or I sleep, I close the lid so the computer sleeps as well.
I just noticed that my laptop case is cracked right where the powerbook's screen connects to the case !! I didn't realise until today because when you look at the screen or the keyboard, you don't notice. However, when i opened my screen this morning without having sat down, the cracks just appeared clearly.
I am so pissed off right now since i just got this damn laptop and I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem because i can see that the Titanium is as thick as 3 hairs where it's cracked. Thank god everything else works fine, even 10.2.3.

I've had the same problem with mz Ti 500 sometime last year. Apple replaced not only the screen, but the hinges, outer casing, upper casing including touchpad and handrest, and the keyboard. Now THAT is thorough service! As long as you still have warrnaty, which you should, just give them a call and explain that it is a hairline fracture that appeared near the hinge, even though you handled the unit with care. Make sure to say that you handled it carefully and did not bump or drop it. It would even be better to go to a genius bar and show it to them, if you are close to an Apple Retail store.
