Have any of you used an online backup service that is Mac friendly? It does not have to be free as long as it is affordable (under $150 per year).
I basically need a site that I can copy directories of data to at a time of my choosing. No automated software running in the background. no Time Machine tie-in. I want a plain and simple "mapped drive" that I can copy data to and from. I would have an initial heavy burst of uploaded data (8-10GB) but then it would drop back to 100-250MB a month with little cross traffic.

.Mac is out of the question. Just have heard waaaaay too much bad stuff about it. Mozy seems too automated and structured. Carbonite seems too non-Mac. iDrive seems a possibility but unsure of the trustworthiness. XDrive has the stench of AOL all over it and I would not touch it if it were the only choice available. Any other suggestions that you guys have used?

Hmmm, looks like others don't have a pick for a good backup solution either so I will post what I have come across since posting my question...

So far, it looks like Jungle Disk may be my best option in what I am looking for: http://www.jungledisk.com/

Feel free to check it out if you are looking for something similar.

Is there anything specific you don’t like about Jingle Disk, or any specific features you are looking for?
I too am looking for an alternative to getting a fire resistant, waterproof box to stash in the basement for my offline backup drive.
